Invited lecture on Holographic-Type Communication

In a guest lecture for the cutting-edge computing domain, SMARTNESS associate researcher Professor Eduardo Cerqueira from UFPA (Federal University of Pará) took center stage as he delivered a captivating lecture. The lecture, held at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) at UNICAMP, was an enlightening exploration into the realm of Immersive Communications within the context of 6G systems. Professor Cerqueira’s presentation specifically shed light on the exciting frontier of Holographic-Type Communications (HTC).

This insightful Guest Lecture unfolded within the context of the FEEC-UNICAMP graduate class IA377, aptly titled “Seminars in Computer Engineering”. The course is ministered by Professor Christian Esteve Rothenberg, who also serves as the Principal Investigator of SMARTNESS.

Professor Eduardo Cerqueira has brought knowledge and expertise, earning his Ph.D. in informatics engineering from the esteemed University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2008. Today, he holds the prestigious position of Associate Professor within the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Telecommunications at the Federal University of Pará in Brazil.

This event served as a testament to the academic community’s collaborative spirit and knowledge exchange. It showcased the forward-looking research initiatives pursued by SMARTNESS and its affiliates. It is a reminder that the computing world continues to evolve and expand into exciting, uncharted territories.
