At the end of October, Tariqul Islam, PhD student and member of SMARTNESS, visited Barcelona, Spain, to present a co-authored poster at the 27th International Conference on Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Wireless and Mobile Systems (MSWiM 2025).
The event provided a valuable opportunity to share results, receive feedback, and engage with the international research community in the field of wireless and mobile systems.
Technical Visits
During his stay, Tariq also visited Telefónica Barcelona, where he was warmly welcomed by his former colleague Fabricio Rodriguez and the research team. Discussions focused on shared scientific interests and potential collaboration opportunities between Telefónica’s research group and SMARTNESS.
He then visited the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), where he met with Dr. Josep Mangues-Bafalluy, Research Director and Head of the Services as Networks (SaS) Research Unit. At CTTC, Tariq presented the vision and research priorities of SMARTNESS, outlined the focus of his PhD work, and explored opportunities for joint research initiatives.
Overall, the visit strengthened professional connections and opened promising pathways for future cooperation between SMARTNESS and leading research groups in Barcelona.
