“QU4C” High-Throughput QUIC Traffic Demo Showcased at ACM SIGCOMM 2026

CAMPINAS, Brazil — August 21, 2026 — Research from the SMARTNESS Research Center was featured on the international stage at ACM SIGCOMM 2026, the world’s premier conference in computer networking and data communications.

Master’s student researcher Filipo Gabert Costa presented the demonstration titled “QU4C: High-Throughput QUIC Traffic Reproduction on Programmable Switches.” Developed in collaboration with Francisco Germano Vogt, Fabricio Rodríguez, Marcelo Caggiani Luizelli, and Christian Esteve Rothenberg, the project addresses a critical challenge in testing modern internet protocols.

By offloading QUIC traffic generation and reproduction directly onto hardware-programmable switches, QU4C achieves the ultra-high throughput necessary to realistically benchmark and test next-generation 5G, 6G, and edge computing network infrastructures.
