Christian Esteve Rothenberg

Christian Esteve Rothenberg is Head of the Information & Networking Technologies Research & Innovation Group (INTRIG) and Associate Professor at University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2010. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as Senior Research Scientist in the areas of IP systems and networking at CPqD R&D Center in Telecommunications, Campinas, Brazil. He holds the Telecommunication Engineering degree from the Technical University of Madrid (ETSIT - UPM), Spain, and the M.Sc. (Dipl. Ing.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Technical University of Darmstadt (TUD), Germany, 2006. Christian has contributed to several international patents, co-authored three books, and over 200 scientific publications, altogether featuring 10,000+ citations (h-index: 35+).

Maria Valéria Marquezini

Maria Valéria Marquezini received her Master of Science (Physics) degree in 1990 and Doctor of Science (Physics) degree in 1995 from the State University of Campinas, Brazil. Between 1995-97 she worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Materials Science Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), conducting research activities in the field of laser engineering and electronic processes in semiconductors. From 1997-99, she worked as an associate researcher at the Physics Institute, UNICAMP. Since 2000, she has been working in the research department of Ericsson in Brazil, where she has managed over 100 research projects developed in partnership with universities in the telecommunications domain, ranging from fixed to wireless technologies, and devices to network technologies. Currently, she is a Master Researcher in the Network Automation and Core Networks sector of Ericsson Research, responsible for coordinating the portfolio of research projects in cooperation with academia in Brazil. Research areas of interest are 6G enabling technologies and industry-university cooperation.

Mateus Santos

Mateus Augusto Silva Santos is a Research Leader at Ericsson in Brazil since May 2020. From 2015 to 2020, he worked as an Experienced and Senior researcher in management and automation of 5G networks and services. From 2013 to 2014 he was a research scholar with the Inter-Networking Research Group at UC Santa Cruz. He was also a postdoctoral researcher with University of Campinas. Mateus received his M.Sc. (2009) in Computer Science and Ph.D. (2014) in Electrical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo, and his B.Sc. (2001) in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Itajubá. Mateus is co-author of several scientific papers published in international conferences and journals. He is also co-inventor of 6+ patents in the field of telecommunications.

Luiz Bittencourt

Luiz Bittencourt is an Associate Professor at the University of Campinas, Brazil. Luiz was awarded with the IEEE ComSoc Latin America Young Professional Award in 2013. He acts on the organization of several conferences in the cloud and edge computing topics, and in several technical program committees. He also serves as associate editor for the IEEE Cloud Computing Magazine, for the Computers and Electrical Engineering and the Internet of Things journals, for the Journal of Network and Systems Management, and for IEEE Networking Letters. His main interests are in resource management and scheduling in cloud, edge, fog computing, and their synergy towards the computing continuum.

Pedro Henrique Gomes

Pedro is a Master Researcher at Ericsson Research in Brazil, dedicated to the management and automation of 5G networks and services. He collaborates with various standardization organizations, including ETSI ZSM, 3GPP, and O-RAN, actively contributing to the development of autonomous network architectures, with a particular focus on closed-loop automation and intent-driven enablers. With over 15 years of experience, Pedro's expertise spans researching, enhancing, and building wireless communication systems. His work encompasses a wide range, from Wi-Fi-based local networks, RFID-based applications, wireless sensor networks, and IoT solutions to 4G and 5G mobile cellular networks. Pedro's academic achievements include a Ph.D. (2019) and an M.Sc. (2015) in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA, as well as an M.Sc. (2011) in computer science and a B.Sc. (2007) in computer engineering from the University of Campinas in Brazil. Pedro is co-author of 50+ scientific papers published in international conferences and journals. He has also secured 10+ patents in the field of telecommunications, underscoring his significant contributions to the industry.

Hugo Figueroa

Hugo E. Hernandez-Figueroa, PhD in physics from the Imperial College London, in 1994. Full Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), School of E&C Engineering (FEEC), since 2005. Dean of FEEC (2023-2027). Fellow of OPTICA (2011) and a recipient of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal in 2000. Advisory Committee Member in Engineering at FAPESP since 2014. His research interests concentrate on integrated photonics, radars, photonics biosensors and metamaterials, applied to communications and biotechnology.

Fabio Verdi

Fabio Luciano Verdi is an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar). He received his Master degree in Computer Science and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering both from University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He was a visitor researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2021 to 2022. He has been working on data centers, cloud computing, SDN, and data plane programmability. He is the Coordinator of the LERIS Research Group and has been leading projects in the areas of computer network monitoring, virtual resources, and cloud infrastructures.

Since 2011, Daniel Macêdo Batista is Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), the major institution of higher learning and research in Brazil. Marco Amaral Henriques

Head of the Research Group on Applied Security (ReGrAS) at FEEC/Unicamp, Dr. Marco Aurelio Amaral Henriques is a tenured Associate Professor at DCA-FEEC-Unicamp (University of Campinas) since 1996. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Juiz de Fora Federal University - MG - Brazil (1986), an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Chiba (National) University - Japan (1990), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Chiba (National) University - Japan (1993). Previously, he worked as a researcher and Associate Professor at the Information Engineering Department, Shinshu (National) University - Japan (1993 - 1996). He has been working on several projects with private and public institutions in the areas of applied security, applied cryptography, digital identity management and cryptographic protocols.

Prof. Ricardo Gudwin is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, State University of Campinas - Brazil. He was born in Campinas-SP, Brazil, in 1967 and received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1989, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1996, all of them from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas - Brazil.  His current research interests include the study of cognitive architectures, cognitive systems, intelligence and intelligent systems, intelligent agents, semiotics, and computational semiotics.

Fernando J. Von Zuben

Fernando J. Von Zuben is a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Industrial Automation, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas (Unicamp), São Paulo, Brazil. The main topics of his research are computational intelligence, multivariate data analysis, and machine learning. He coordinates open-ended research projects on these topics, tackling real-world problems in information technology, decision-making, pattern recognition, and discrete and continuous optimization. He is IEEE Senior Member, has completed the supervision of 60 Master and Doctoral students, and has published 330 papers in journals and conferences in these research areas.
