Professor Luiz Bittencourt, SMARTNESS researcher, obtained funding from the “Centro de Pesquisa e Inovação Sueco-Brasileiro” (CISB), to participate in the WARA-PS Demonstration Week 2024 event, held in Västervik, Sweden. During the event, Prof. Luiz presented a demo on drone management using edge computing and some proposed algorithmic strategies for collision avoidance and landing and take-off management; current research area of the DEMIS research strand of SMARTNESS.
Later, Prof. Luiz made a technical visit to Prof. Fredrik Heintz’s laboratory at Linköping University. This was followed by a presentation and technical meetings at Saab‘s headquarters in Linköping, and a visit to Ericsson Research in Stockholm where he was received by researchers Mattias Wildeman and Börn Skubic.
