On February 25, Dr. Christian Rothenberg (Director of SMARTNESS) and Dr. Eduardo Sartori (Technology Transfer Manager of SMARTNESS) were at the Dr. Telêmaco Paioli Melges State School in Sumaré-SP for the first meeting to plan Education and Knowledge Dissemination activities, in partnership with CPTEn – Paulista Center for Energy Training Studies. They were accompanied by Dr. Danusia Ferreira, associate researcher at CPTEn, and received by the Director of the School, Prof. Mario Ferreira Sarraipa, and his team.
At the school, they were able to learn a little about the technological education activities already underway and supported by CPTEn, such as Thematic Clubs, where students themselves develop activities based on a specific theme chosen by them, in addition to other initiatives with Elective Disciplines, with diverse themes such as “computer assembly.” This visit is part of a larger partnership plan between SMARTNESS and CPTEn for Education and Dissemination of Knowledge. SMARTNESS aims to support the Clubs in Elective Disciplines in addition to helping to improve and optimize the school’s network infrastructure. The partnership is based on CPTEn’s Axis VIII – Innovation for Smart Municipalities, under the coordination of Prof. Hugo Figueroa, who coordinates partnerships at SMARTNESS. With an emphasis on Sustainability, this eighth axis consists of the triad of connectivity, sensing, and education, aimed mainly at underprivileged communities. In this way, SMARTNESS reaffirms its commitment to producing and disseminating high-quality knowledge to the most diverse sectors of society.
