SMARTNESS Researchers Win Best Paper Award at CBIC 2025

SMARTNESS congratulates Prof. Fernando J. Von Zuben and researcher Heictor Costa, members of the Center, for receiving the Best Paper Award at the Brazilian Congress on Computational Intelligence (CBIC 2025).

 

The awarded paper, titled “Hybrid Offline–Online UAV Optimal Path Planning and Outburst Dynamic Autonomous Behavior”, was recognized by the CBIC committee for its scientific relevance and practical impact in the fields of computational intelligence and autonomous robotics.

 

This recognition highlights the excellence and continued contributions of the researchers to advancing artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, areas that are also among the strategic research focuses of SMARTNESS.

 

The achievement further strengthens SMARTNESS’s position as a national and international reference center in technological innovation, interdisciplinary research, and talent development, driving the future of intelligent and connected communications.
