25 maio SMARTNESS Hosts Delegation from the Embassy of Sweden
On May 20, 2026, the SMARTNESS welcomed a delegation from the Embassy of Sweden at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in an institutional agenda aimed at strengthening international cooperation in research, innovation, and technological development.
The program began with the reception of the delegation at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC/Unicamp), followed by a presentation of the SMARTNESS 5G Studio facilities. During the technical visit, the international representatives were introduced to the research center’s infrastructure, main areas of activity, and ongoing projects in intelligent networks, artificial intelligence, cloud and edge computing, 5G/6G technologies, and advanced digital services.
Researcher Arthur Simas led the laboratory presentation and conducted live demonstrations of virtual reality applications, showcasing the potential of the technologies and solutions developed within the SMARTNESS initiative.
Subsequently, Dr. Maria Valéria Marquezini, Vice-Director of SMARTNESS, presented the project and highlighted the strategic partnership with Ericsson, reinforcing the joint commitment to advancing scientific research, technological innovation, and collaboration between academia and industry.
The institutional agenda also included the participation of Renato Lopes, Executive Director of the Innovation Agency Inova Unicamp, and Prof. Bruno Masiero, Associate Director of FEEC/Unicamp, who presented the university’s initiatives in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological development.
