Postdoctoral Fellowship in Distributed Systems / Computer Networks

SMARTNESS is a research center formed by University of Campinas, University of São Paulo, and Federal University of São Carlos, among other associated universities, funded by Ericsson and São Paulo Research Foundation. We are seeking postdoctoral candidates with experience in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to conduct research focused on the integration of UAV control systems and edge computing in 5G/6G scenarios, including routing and route optimization, collision avoidance, and takeoff and landing control. The selected researcher will be responsible for conducting research using simulation tools, implementing solutions, and analyzing performance.

To succeed in this position, candidates are expected to have:

Strong motivation;
A Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields;
The Ph.D. degree must have been obtained in 2020 or later;
Excellent proficiency in common programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python);
Research experience with UAVs and/or simulation tools;
Knowledge and/or research experience in machine learning techniques;
A strong publication record, consistent with the previous roles presented in the curriculum vitae.

Monthly stipend: The selected candidate will receive a monthly FAPESP Postdoctoral Scholarship in the amount of R$ 12.570,00 per month ($ 2.430 / € 2.060) and a technical reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship for contingency funds directly related to the research activity.
