SMARTNESS was present at the IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS) 2024, edition held at Seoul, South Korea. The theme of NOMS 2024 was “Towards Smart, Reliable and Sustainable Network and Service Management”, highlighting the importance of 5G networks, the emergence of 6G, and the convergence of networks in applications such as IoT, metaverse, smart cities, and autonomous vehicles.
Four papers by SMARTNESS researchers were accepted at this congress and co-located events. Researchers Filipo Gabert Costa, Francisco Vogt, Fabricio Eduardo Rodriguez Cesen, Ariel Góes de Castro, Marcelo Caggiani Luizelli, and Christian Esteve Rothenberg, presented the paper entitled “PIPO-TG: Parameterizable High-Performance Traffic Generation”. Researchers Felipe A. S. Novais, and Fábio L. Verdi, presented the paper entitled “Unlocking Security to the Board: An Evaluation of SmartNIC-driven TLS Acceleration with kTLS”. Researchers Frederico Meletti Rappa, Roberto Rodrigues-Filho, Alison R. Panisson, Leandro Marcolino, and Luiz F. Bittencourt, presented the paper entitled “Multi-armed Bandits for Self-distributing Stateful Services across Networking Infrastructures”. Finally, researchers Roberto Rodrigues-Filho, Eduardo S. Gama, Marcio Assis, Roger Immich, Edmundo Madeira, and Luiz F. Bittencourt, presented the paper entitled “Content Steering for Adaptive Video Streaming over the Edge-Cloud Continuum”.
